Emotions of the Heart, Memories relived. updated

"Do you remember the day we met?" Amaya asked, her eyes glimmering. "I know it's not like you to forget." She added teasingly.

"How could i forget?" he asked happily, sitting up. Looking across the stream of clear water, the memory returned with a gentle breeze and  he smiled even stronger than he already was and closed  his eyes as it overtook him.

It truly was  the best day of his life. What he saw, heard, smelled, and most importantly, felt that day, were minuscule in meaning, when his eyes fell upon his love.

In his mind  he could recall it clear as  day.

He was chasing after his companion, Nite, the small blue nine-tailed fox, as per their usual game. As  small as Nite was, she was amazingly quick. Weaving through the trees, blurs of brown, and green, through tall grass, over fairly sized boulders, and across water they ran.

The feel of his footsteps with each impact, the wind in his  ears, his hair pressed flat by the speed of his travel, and the necklaces against his chest bouncing.

But as he said "I'm gonna catch you!" Nite looked back at him, amidst her mass of tails, and missed the the river in front of her.

His eyes had widened, and he quickened his pace, she would surely fall... he dove, and almost instantly had his arms around her, before rolling and landing on his back. But he didn't stop, the momentum from his travel had caused  him to slide.

He clutched her close to him, but as his back skipped across the ground, he thought just of how much he didn't want her to be hurt, and instead  of falling into the water, he fell on top of it, as if the water were a solid surface...

After he had come to stop, he looked at his friend, still clutched  close to his chest, and she likewise returned his glance, their matching blue eyes meeting.

"Oh thank goodness you're alright!" he had said, holding her closer. Having been alone for so long, Nite had become his best friend, since he was a boy. If anything had happened to her, he didn't know what he'd so.

Holding her on one arm, and using the other to pick himself up, he stood on the surface of the water, before heading back to the bank,  rings of  disturbance in the water marked his footsteps.

"C'mon Nite, Let's get you cleaned up!" He said, Nites' fur having accumulated dirt and leaves from their passage through the forest. To which she returned with a lick on his chin, causing him to smile, thankful she was okay.

Kneeling down in the grass near the water's edge, he pulled a rag from his bag at his side, he pulled a towel, and a small cloth from it.

"Stay right here okay? I don't want you going near the water again, just sit and  rest."
As he approached the water once again, with the towel over his shoulder and  the washcloth in hand, he was surprised when he saw the nose, and paws of  Nite, enter his field of vision. The water only went up to a few centimeters over her paws, but she seemed okay. He smiled in the knowledge she trusted him still.


"C'mon Nite, you know the drill heh." He said, as he gently began scrubbing the fur of her back, the water glistening as it formed crystal-like beads on her sapphire-hued fur. SHe began rolling her head back and forth, she hated water, but enjoyed time with him.

But then, from behind him, he heard another pair of footsteps, turning his heart stopped as his eyes befell a woman before him. Raven hair, pink hued eyes, light fair skin, and a blue dress with white and lighter blue layers around her skirt. She was truly, the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and when she poke; she had such a gentle voice that put him at ease.


"E-excuse me sir? H-have  you seen any mint leaves?" She asked.
